Davidheiser Nets Goal And Assist In Conference Win

Kessler Notches Second Shutout

Florham, N.J. (Oct. 4, 2008) - Sophomore forward Morgan Davidheiser (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown) tallied a goal and an assist, and senior goalie Richard Kessler (Reading, Pa./Reading) needed just one first-half save to record his second shutout of the season as Alvernia University (3-6-1, 1-1) evened up its Freedom Conference record with a 3-0 win at FDU-Florham (3-8, 0-2) Saturday afternoon.

Davidhesier put the Crusaders on the board in the 23rd minute assisted by freshman Matthew Colombero (Skillman, N.J./Montgomery), and Alvernia held the 1-0 lead into halftime.

Adam Lush (Reading, Pa./Muhlenberg) set up Tim Marcinek (Philadelphia, Pa./LaSalle) on a throw-in in the 54th minute that Marcinek headed home to put the Crusaders up 2-0, and Davidhesier assisted David Schaeffer (Pottstown, Pa./Pottstown) on his second goal of the season in the 84th minute to cap the scoring.

Alvernia will travel to Richard Stockton College for a non-conference match up on Wednesday.
