Pomona, N.J. (Oct. 8, 2008) – Sophomore Sean Nelson (Toms River/Toms River South) scored two second-half goals as Richard Stockton (10-3-1) defeated Alvernia University (3-7-1) 2-0 in a non-conference game Wednesday night at Stockton.

After a scoreless first half, Nelson gave the Ospreys the lead in the 50th minute, scoring an unassisted goal. Fifteen minutes later, Nelson scored again off an assist from Sean McCallum (Vineland/Vineland) to put the Ospreys in front 2-0.

In goal, Anthony Pompei (Hamilton/Hamilton West) made three saves to earn the shutout for Stockton. His counterpart Richard Kessler (Reading, PA/Reading) also made three saves for Alvernia.

 Alvernia will return home to face DeSales on Saturday at 3:30 pm.
