Alvernia Dominates LBC To Get Back On Track

Three Players Score For Crusaders

Reading, Pa. (Oct. 10, 2009) - Alvernia University (3-10) used a 23-2 advantage in shots to get back on track with a 3-0 win over Lancaster Bible College (2-9-1) Saturday afternoon in non-conference women's soccer action at Schlager Memorial Field.

The Crusaders got on the board in the 23rd minute when Jasmine Morales (Montville, N.J./Montville Twp.) scored the game-winner assisted by Alex Stengel (Avondale, Pa./Avon Grove) and Kara Ross (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown).

Kristen Mantle (Pittsford, N.J./Pittsford Mendon) gave the hosts a bit of breathing room with a tally in the 52nd minute and Amy Mesce (Pittstown, N.J./Delaware Valley Regional) closed the scoring five minutes later.

Alvernia keeper Kristen Kelley (Kirkwood, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) needed just one save to record her second shutout of the season.

After playing on back-to-back days the Crusaders will take a few days off before playing at Widener next Wednesday.
