Chester, Pa. (Oct. 6, 2009) - Alvernia University (0-19, 0-4) sophomores Diane Lightner (Gaithersburg, Md./Academy of the Holy Cross) and Alyssa Soltis (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) had a team-high five kills each in a 3-0 loss at Widener University (16-7, 3-1) Tuesday evening in Commonwealth Conference women's volleyball action.

The Pride took the first two sets by 25-12 and 25-7 scores before the Crusaders played the hosts tight in the third set falling 25-20.

Ashley Kutcher (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) had a dozen assists for the Crusaders and Lightner and Soltis had a team-high six digs each.

Alvernia has eight days off before hosting conference foe Arcadia University next Wednesday.
