Camden, N.J. (Sept. 11, 2009) - The Alvernia University (2-2) men's soccer team has now won twice by shutout and lost twice by shutout after Rutgers-Camden (2-3) scored the lone goal in the 82nd minute for a 1-0 win Friday evening in day one action at the Cialella Soccer Classic hosted by RCU.

Both goalies made three saves in the first half to keep the game scoreless at the half and Alvernia sophomore Drew Gilbert (Reading, Pa./Antietam) stopped six more in the second half, but the Scarlet Knights broke through on a deflection in front of the Crusaders' net with under nine minutes to play.

Alvernia will face Medaille College on day two of the classic.
