Grantham, Pa. (Sept. 22, 2009) - Messiah College (5-8, 2-0) won three straight sets for a 3-0 win over Alvernia University (0-13, 0-2) Tuesday evening in Commonwealth Conference women's volleyball action at Messiah.

The Falcons won by scores of 25-10, 25-16, and 25-9.

Alvernia sophomore Alyssa Soltis (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) led the Crusaders with three kills and Miranda Hetrick (Stowe, Pa./High Point Baptist Academy) added a pair.

Alvernia will host DeSales University on Friday evening.
