Reading, Pa. (Oct. 12, 2010) - Alvernia junior Domenic Montone (Elkins Park, Pa./Abington) scored on a header in the 13th minute assisted by Morgan Davidheiser (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown) and Drew Gilbert (Reading, Pa./Antietam) made four saves in the Crusaders' (7-5-1, 1-2) 1-0 win over Albright College (8-5, 1-2) Tuesday night in a Commonwealth Conference men's soccer game at Albright.

Gilbert needed just one save in the second half to preserve his second shutout of the season and Alvernia missed a golden opportunity to extend the lead when Eric Franks (Reading, Pa./Exeter) was stuffed on a penalty kick by Albright keeper Billy Howard.

The Crusaders did continue a trend of each team winning every other season that dates back seven years.  Alvernia evens up the series record in games since it joined the Commonwealth prior to the '09 season.

Albright held a 12-9 advantage in shots on Tuesday, but only got four of those efforts on net.

The Crusaders will contiue the conference schedule Saturday at Lycoming.
