Kelley Breaks Career Shutout Mark

BOX SCORE

Williamsport, Pa. (Oct. 16, 2010) - Senior keeper Kirsten Kelley (Kirkwood, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) broke the school mark with her 12th career shutout and Alvernia University (11-2-3, 2-0-2) played Lycoming College (7-5-1, 0-3-1) to a 0-0 draw Saturday afternoon in Commonwealth Conference women's soccer action at Lycoming.

Kelley notched her eight individual shutout of the season, double the previous record for shutouts in a season and she pulled within 50 minutes of the consecutive shutout minutes streak.  The team also tied a record for consecutive shutouts with its fourth in a row.

Lycoming held a 17-8 advantage in shots, but only got five of those on the mark and Kelley denied all five.  Lycoming keeper Caitlin Dougherty made a pair of saves to earn her own shutout.

Alvernia returns home to face league power Messiah College on Tuesday.
