Elizabethtown, Pa. (Oct. 2, 2010) - Alvernia Univeristy (8-2-2, 0-0-1) scored a goal in the 32nd minute of play and Elizabethtown College (4-4-2, 0-0-1) answered in the 33rd minute, and that was all the scoring in a 1-1 tie Saturday afternoon in Commonwealth Conference women's soccer action at Etown.

The Crusaders got on the board first on a tally by junior Amy Mesce (Pittstown, N.J./Delaware Valley Regional) who has now scored in three straight games.  The Blue Jays responded on a goal from Laura Wingert.

Etown cranked up the offense in the second half with 13 of its 18 shots in the second 45.  The Jays held an 18-9 advantage in shots.  Both teams played a pair of keepers each.  Alvernia totaled seven saves while Etown finished with six.

Alvernia next plays a non-conference game at Rutgers-Camden on Wednesday.
