Reading, Pa. (Oct. 27, 2010) - Albright College (10-16, 3-4) raced out to a 25-13 win in game one and took close ones in two and three for a 3-0 win over Alvernia University (7-13, 2-5) Wednesday evening in Commonwealth Conference women's volleyball action at the Physical Education Center.
The Lions set the tone with a .370 hitting percentage in the opening set while the Crusaders struggled to find the rhythm committing nine hitting errors with just five kills. Albright followed with a 25-23 win in set two and earned the match win with an identical decision in the third set.
Alvernia senior
Nicole Swinehart (Hegins, Pa./Tri-Valley) led the Crusaders with 10 kills on senior night.
Tori Beck (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown) handed out 20 assists and finished with a team-high 15 digs.
Alvernia closes the season with seven wins.
