Late Goal Downs Cougars

Crusaders Defeat Misericordia 2-1

Dallas, Pa. (Sept. 14, 2010) - Sophomore Miranda Peto (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville) scored the only goal of the second half which proved the game-winner for Alvernia University (3-1) in a 2-1 win over Misericordia University (2-3) Tuesday afternoon in non-conference field hockey action at Misericordia.

Alvernia freshman Kyle Dillman (Hershey, Pa./Lower Dauphin) opened the scoring exactly seven minutes into play cashing in a pass from Brittany Barcus (Atglen, Pa./Octorara).  The Cougars tied up the score nine minutes later and remained even at 1-1 into the half.

Alvernia junior Abby Eby (New Holland, Pa./Garden Spot) needed just two saves to pick up the win while Cougar keeper Grace Riker stopped 11.

Alvernia travels to William Patterson on Sept. 17th for another non-conference game beginning at 7:00pm.
