Williamsport, Pa. (Sept. 15, 2010) - Alvernia University (3-6,1-0) recovered from an error-filled first set to rattle off wins in three straight for a 3-1 win over Lycoming College Wednesday evening in Commonwealth Conference volleybal action at Lycoming.

The Crusaders had a whopping 10 errors in the opening set and dropped it by a 25-15 count.  They came roaring back with 12 kills and just one error in a convincing 25-10 win in set two and finished out with 25-19 and 25-23 wins.

Junior middle Angela Altemose (Pottsville, Pa./Nativity BVM) led the way with 12 kills for the Crusaders.  Tori Beck () handed out 23 assists and Kristen Rupp () and Gabrielle Albanesius () led the way with 14 and 12 digs respectively.

Alvernia continues the conference schedule next Tuesday hosting Messiah College.
