Allentown, Pa. (Sept. 11, 2010) - Alvernia University (2-6) split a tri-match at Cedar Crest with a 3-0 win over the host Falcons and a 3-2 loss to Penn State-Berks Saturday afternoon in non-conference volleyball action.

The Crusaders cruised past Cedar Crest winning in straight sets 25-14, 25-22, 25-21.  Three players recorded eight or more kills in the match led by Kristen Rupp (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) who totalled 11.  Rupp also tallied a team-best 13 digs.  Tori Beck (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown) handed out 30 assist for the Crusaders.

In the second match, the Crusaders squeezed out a pair of close victories in sets two and three for a 2-1 lead, but couldn't close out the Lions who won 25-16 and 15-10 in the last two sets.  Anglea Altemose (Pottsville, Pa./Nativity BVM) led the way with a match-high 15 kills and Beck dished out another 35 assists.
