Reading, Pa. (Oct. 12, 2011) - Elizabethtown College (6-15, 2-3) earned a 3-0 win over Alvernia University (7-9, 1-4) Wednesday evening in Commonwealth Conference women's volleyball action at the Physical Education Center.

The Jays pulled away midway through the opening set en route to a 25-16 win in the opener then followed up with a 25-9 win in set two, and closed out the match with a 25-17 win in the final set.

Alvernia was led by Cody Dripchak (Breezy Point, N.Y./Bishop Kearney) and Alyssa Soltis (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) who had six kills apiece.  Tori Beck (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown) finished with 18 assists, and Toni Maurer (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) had 16 digs.

Alvernia returns to action next Tuesday at home against Lycoming.
