Reading, Pa. (Oct. 18, 2011) - Lycoming College (13-13, 3-3) jumped out to an early lead with a 25-13 win in the opening set then cruised to a 3-0 win over Alvernia University (7-10, 1-5) Tuesday evening in Commonwealth Conference women's volleyball action at the Physical Education Center.
The Warriors, seeking their first invitation to the Commonwealth playoffs, held on for a 25-22 win in the second set then finished the match with a 25-17 win in the final set.

Alyssa Soltis (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) led the Crusaders with nine kills.
Amy Dziura (Columbus, N.J./Northern Burlington Regional) had a team-best nine digs.
The Crusaders host a tri-match with Cedar Crest and Penn State-Berks on Saturday with matches at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., and 1 p.m. They conclude the season traveling to Messiah College next Wednesday.
