Annville, Pa. (Oct. 8, 2011) - Lebanon Valley College (9-3-2, 2-0) scored the only goal of the game 21 seconds before halftime in a 1-0 win over Alvernia University (6-5, 1-1) Saturday afternoon in Commonwealth Conference women's soccer action at Lebanon Valley.

Heather Tran netted her fifth of the year in the 45th minute assisted by Allison Korns.  The Dutchmen held a decided 9-1 advantage in shots over the first 45 minutes.  The Crusaders responded with seven shots in the second half, but couldn't solve LVC keeper Sami Young who needed four saves to record the shutout.

Colleen Maher (Wall, N.J./Wall Township) made seven saves in net for the Crusaders.

Alvernia returns home for back-to-back conference games against Elizabethtown on Wednesday then crosstown rival Albright on homecoming next Saturday.
