Annville, Pa. (Sept. 20, 2011) - Lebanon Valley College (10-3, 2-0) opened the match with 14 straight points en route to a three-set win over Alvernia University (5-6, 0-2) Tuesday evening in Commonwealth Conference women's volleyball action at LVC.

The Dutchmen finished off a 25-10 win in the opening set.  Alvernia then opened the second set with a streak of its own by Alyssa Soltis (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) who finished the night with three aces, but the Dutchmen fought back to level the match at 18-all and took a 25-20 decision.

The defending conference champs won 25-15 in the final set to take the match.

Alvernia sophomore Kristen Rupp (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) led the way for the Crusaders with six kills and nine digs.  Tori Beck (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown) finished with 16 assists.

Alvernia returns home to host conference foe Arcadia next Wednesday.
