Reading, Pa. (Sept. 21, 2011) - Senior Eric Franks (Reading, Pa./Exeter) assisted on both goals as Alvernia (5-1-1) defeated visiting Ursinus College (1-6) this evening in non-conference action at Schlager Memorial Field by a score of 2-0.  Domenic Montone (Elkins Park, Pa./Abington) and Kyle Mellon (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge) both scored for the Crusaders.

Montone opened the scoring with his first goal of the season in just the fourth minute as he found a free kick from Franks and headed into the left side of the net.  Mere minutes later, Mellon headed in an insurance goal for Alvernia off a corner kick from Franks.  This was Mellon's third goal of the season.

Alvernia and Ursinus were even with ten shots each, while Ursinus held the edge with six corner kicks to Alvernia's four.  Crusader goalie Ben Diller (Etters, Pa./Red Land) tallied one save on the day for his fifth win of the season and second shut out.

The Crusaders return to action on Sept. 24th when they travel to DeSales for a 3:30pm start.
