Glenside, Pa. (Oct. 16, 2012) - Alvernia University (7-7-2, 1-4-1) fell by a score of 3-0 at Arcadia University (9-4-3, 3-2-1) this evening in Commonwealth Conference action.  The Crusaders managed six shots, three on goal through the 90 minutes of play.

The Knights got on the board just as the first half was ending with a goal from Kim Canfield in the 44th minute as she recovered the ball from a scrum in front of the net and sent it back into what was then an empty net.  Arcadia got another soon into the second half, thanks to a header from Sara Volk-Perez in the 48th minute.  Arcadia added their third goal as the clock was winding down with a breakway goal from Canfield in the 90th minute.

Alvernia tallied six shots on the day and earned four corner kicks.  Goalkeeper Colleen Maher (Wall, NJ/Wall Township) spent 50 minutes in net with two saves and two goals allowed.  Fellow keeper Jessica Pazoria (Plymouth Whitemarsh, Pa./Plymouth Whitemarsh) finished the final 40 minutes with three saves and one goal allowed.

Alvernia is back in action on Sat. Oct. 20th when they host Hood College at 6:30pm in a Commonwealth Conference game.
