Reading, Pa. (Oct. 6, 2012) - On Saturday morning the Alvernia University Crusaders (8-10,3-2) were defeated by the Kings College Monarchs (4-14,0-4) by a score of 3-1 in the first game of a MAC Volleyball Crossover at the Physical Education Center.

After taking the first set 25-17, Alvernia was unable to keep up its momentum for the remainder of the match.

Elen O'Donnel led the way for Kings with 10 kills.

Kristen Rupp (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) had 13 kills for the Crusaders while senior setter Tori Beck (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown) had 34 assists.

With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 8-10.

The MAC Crossovers feature two teams from the Freedom Conference and Commonwealth Conference playing a quad match.  There are four sites hosting crossovers Saturday.

Alvernia will return to action later on Saturday when it hosts Wilkes University.
