Florham, N.J. (Sept, 19, 2012) - Junior Kelsey Gill (State College, Pa./State College Area) scored the only goal of the day early in the second overtime to lead Alvernia University (5-1-1) to a 1-0 win over FDU-Florham (1-6) Wednesday evening in non-conference women's soccer action at FDU.

FDU peppered the Crusaders' net ripping off 20 shots through regulation, but Alvernia keeper Colleen Maher (Wall, N.J./Wall Twp.) was up to the task every time.  She finished the night with 13 saves to record her fifth shutout of the year.

The Crusader offense mustered just four shots per half in regulation then another in the first overtime before Gill scored to end it early in the second.

Alvernia will continue the non-conference schedule at Valley Forge Christian College on Friday and return home Saturday to host DeSales.
