Williamsport, Pa. (Sept. 29, 2012) - Alvernia University Womens' Soccer (7-2-2, 0-0-1) battled to a scoreless tie at Lycoming College (1-6-4, 0-0-1) Saturday afternoon in the Commonwealth Conference opener for both teams.

Alvernia held the advantage in shots 16-13, shots on goal 11-7 and corner kicks 6-1, but neither team was able to find the back of net through double overtime. Lycoming made use of a defensive save in the 33rd minute to keep Alvernia off the scoreboard.

Alvernia is back in action on Oct. 2 when it hosts Messiah College in a Commonwealth Conference match-up.
