Lancaster, Pa. (Sept. 4, 2012) - Alvernia University (2-0-1) scored two second-half goals in a 2-0 win over Lancaster Bible College (0-2) Tuesday afternoon at LBC.

Junior Bridget Verdel (Hamilton Square, N.J./Notre Dame) scored the game-winner in the 59th minute and Rachel Gimber (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown) put the Crusaders up 2-0 with her second goal of the season in the 82nd minute.

Junior Colleen Maher (Wall, N.J./Wall Township) made four saves to record her third straight shutout of the season.  She has gone all 290 minutes this year without allowing a goal.

The Crusaders head to Penn State-Altoona for a tournament this weekend opening with the host Lions on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
