Gwynedd Valley, Pa. (Sept. 5, 2012) - Alvernia University (2-0-1) senior Ben Diller (Etters, Pa./Red Land) needed just one save to record his second shutout win of the season, a 3-0 decision over Gwynedd-Mercy College (0-3) Wednesday evening in non-conference men's soccer action at GMC.

The Crusaders scored a pair of goals in the first half to build a 2-0 lead at the break.  Kyle Martyn (Media, Pa./Penncrest) opened the scoring in the 15th minute then his brother Alex Martyn (Media, Pa./Penncrest) made it 2-0 with a goal in the 24th minute.

RJ Fisher (Philadelphia, Pa./Roman Catholic) scored the third goal for the Crusaders 20 minutes into the second half.

Diller made his save in the first half while the GMC keeper made six saves over the opening 45 minutes to keep the Griffins close.

Alvernia continues the schedule this weekend hosting Albright, Misericordia, and Wilkes in the Crusader Cup.
