Reading, Pa. (Oct. 19, 2013) - Freshman Matt Reinoehl (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) set up his from Tyler Reinoehl (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) for a header on a free kick in the 89th minute to give Alvernia University (5-8-1, 2-2-1) a 1-0 win over Lycoming College (7-5-2, 2-2-1) Saturday evening in Commonwealth Conference men's soccer action at Alvernia.

The Lycoming defense was winning balls in the air all through the match before Tyler Reinoehl got to the one that mattered.  The Warriors were whislted for a foul with just over two minutes to play, so the Crusaders pushed Tyler Reineohl--one of just three players over six feet tall on the roster--up to the front line for the free kick.  Matt Reinoehl served it to the back post where his brother burried the game-winner.

Alvernia goalie David Giannini (Harleysville, Pa./Faith Christian) was spectacular in net when he had to be stuffing a penalty kick in the first half and saving a point blank shot on a corner kick in the second.  He finished with four saves on the day earning his first shutout of the season.

The Crusaders continue a string of important conference games when they host Arcadia on Tuesday afternoon.
