Chester, Pa. (Oct. 30, 2013) - Widener University (16-15, 4-5) defeated Alvernia University (6-19, 1-8) 3-0 Wednesday evening in Commonwealth Conference women's volleyball action at Widener.

The Pride opened the match with a 25-20 win in the opening set and followed with a 25-18 win in the second and a 25-9 win in the deciding set.

Liz Newman (Fleetwood, Pa./Brandywine Heights) led the way with 11 kills for the Crusaders.  Jamie Morris (Wallingford, Pa./Stratch Haven) handed out 26 assists, and Teresa Zavala (Temple, Pa./Muhlenberg) led the way with 15 digs.
