Chester, Pa. (Oct. 5, 2013) - Widener University (11-0-1, 1-0) scored twice in the second half of a 2-0 win over Alvernia University (8-3-1, 0-1) Saturday afternoon in Commonwealth Conference women's soccer action at Widener.

The Pride got both goals from Karen Thomas who scored on a header in the 66th minute then following a 1-v-1 move in the 86th minute.

Alvernia senior Colleen Maher (Wall, N.J./Wall Township) made seven saves in net for the Crusaders.  Widener goalie Valerie Perretti stopped nine for the Pride.

The Crusaders continue the conference season hosting Elizabethtown on Wednesday.
