Late Goal Leads Etown Past Alvernia, 2-1

Mauroschadt Scores Fourth For Alvernia

Reading, Pa. (Oct. 9, 2013) - Senior Laura Mauroschadt (Reading, Pa./Muhlenberg) scored a game-tying goal in the 63rd minute, but Elizabethtown College (7-4, 2-0) regained the lead in the 80th minute and held on for a 2-1 win over Alvernia University (8-4-1, 0-2) Wednesday afternoon in Commonwealth Conference women's soccer action at Alvernia.

The Jays took an early 1-0 lead on a goal in the eighth minute by Elyse Koterwas.  The Crusaders remained down a goal midway through the second half until freshman Hannah Mallets (O'Fallon, Ill./Mechanicsburg (Pa.)) served a cross to Mauroschadt with 28 minutes left on the clock.

Alvernia keeper Colleen Maher (Wall, N.J./Wall Township) made a pair of saves in net for the Crusaders.

Alvernia continues the conference schedule this Saturday at Lebanon Valley.
