Reading, Pa. (Nov. 5, 2013) - Third-seeded Alvernia University (8-9-2, 5-3-1) heads to #2 Elizabethtown College (10-6-2, 7-2) for a Commonwealth Conference Men's Soccer Semifinal Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at Ira R. Herr Field.

Elizabethtown defeated Alvernia, 2-1, in the regular season match-up back on Oct. 8, and earned the home game in the semifinal on the second-to-last day of the regular season when Albright College knocked off Alvernia, 3-2, in overtime.

Fourth-seeded Lycoming College defeated #5 Lebanon Valley in the quarterfinal game and will be at #1 Messiah in Wednesday's other semifinal.  The two winners will meet Saturday for the Championship at the higher remaining seed.

Tickets for Wednesday's game will be available at the gate.  They are $5 for adults, $4 for seniors, $2 for students.  Children under six will be admitted for free.

Alvernia is making its third straight appearance in the Commonwealth Championships since joining the conference four years ago.  Alvernia was the #2 seed two years ago and advanced to the final where it met top-seeded Messiah College.  Last season the Crusaders entered the postseason as the #4 seed and knocked off Arcadia in the quarterfinal before falling to Messiah in a semifinal.
