Reading, Pa. (Sept. 10, 2013) - Hood College (2-4, 1-1) got a team-high 16 kills from Hayley Rogers in a 3-2 win over Alvernia University (4-4, 0-2) Tuesday evening in Commonwealth Conference women's volleyball action at Jack McCloskey Court.

Kristen Rupp (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) tied the school record for attack attempts in a 5-set match with 57 and hammered down a career-high 21 kills to lead the Crusaders offense. Freshman
Jamie Morris (Wallngford, Pa./Strath Haven) handed out 50 assists and Theresa Zavala (Temple, Pa./Muhlenberg) and
Toni Maurer (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) had a match-high 21 diggs each.
Hood took the first set 28-26 and the third set 27-25. Alvernia leveled the match twice with a 25-18 win in the second set and a 25-20 win in the fourth set, but Hood jumped out to a 7-2 lead in the fifth set en route to a 15-6 win.
Alvernia has a week off and will continue the conference schedule at Albright next Wednesday night.
