Crusaders Shut Out At Albright

Reading, Pa. (Sept. 18, 2013) - Alvernia University (4-5, 0-3) managed just 14 total kills in a 3-0 loss to Albright College (5-8, 1-2) Wednesday evening in Commonwealth Conference women's volleyball action at the Bollman Center.

The Crusaders kept it close in the first set before a 7-0 run by the Lions help them to a 25-14 win.  The hosts took a 25-15 win in the second set and closed the match with a 25-19 win in the third and final set.

Alvernia got a team-high six kills from Liz Newman (Fleetwood, Pa./Brandywine Heights).  Albright scored less than a third of its point on offense racking up just 24 kills on the night.

The Crusaders host Immaculata and Delaware Valley in a tri-match on Saturday.
