Reading, Pa. (Sept. 21, 203) – Delaware Valley (6-6) defeated Alvernia University (4-7) 3-0 Saturday afternoon in non-conference women's volleyball action at Jack McCloskey Court.

The Aggies took the first game 25-22 then took a commanding 20-10 lead in the second set only to see the Crusaders claw back into the match closing to 24-21.  DVC finally got the kill it was looking for to end the match when Alyssa Riggins put one away.

The third set was a back and forth affair until DVC was able to establish some breathing room with a 22-18 lead.  Alvernia came back with a side out, but gave it back on a setting error.  The Aggies scored on a service ace to get to match point then got a kill from Gina Page to end the match, 25-20.

Alvernia got a team-high 12 kills from Liz Newman (Fleetwood, Pa./Brandywine Heights) and 18 digs from Toni Maurer (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh).

The Crusaders are at Messiah on Tuesday.
