Reading, Pa. (Sept. 3, 2013) - Alvernia University (2-0) got goals from three different players in a 3-0 win over Gwynedd-Mercy College (0-2) Tuesday evening in non-conference men's soccer action at Alvernia.
The Crusaders piled up chances in the first half, but didn't break through until freshman
T.J. Leiter (Tower City, Pa./Williams Valley) burried his own rebound in the 25th minute.Â
The hosts added two more goals early in the second half.Â
Alex Martyn (Media, Pa./Penncrest) was on the finishing end of a nice feed from Leiter in the 47th minute, and junior
Josh Wollaston (Middletown, Del./Caravel Academy) put home a penalty kick a minute later.

Matt Wells (Linwood, Pa./Chichester) played the full 90 minutes in net for the Crusaders and needed just one save to record his first career shutout. Gwynedd-Mercy played a pair of goalies who combined to make 12 saves.
Alvernia hits the road to face two more former Pennsylvania Athletic Conference foes in the Eagle Road Classic. It takes on Eastern University on Friday at 3:00 and tangles with Cabrini College on Saturday at 2:30.
