BOX SCORE St. Davids, Pa. (Sept. 6, 2013) - Alvernia (2-1) fell to host Eastern University (2-0) by a score of 2-0 Friday afternoon in the opening game of the Eagle Road Classic. The Crusaders surrendered a goal 28:10 into the game, and the Eagles netted their second goal on a penalty kick at 68:41.
In the first half, Alvernia held the 2-1 advantage in corner kicks, but was out shot 6-3. The Eastern goal came from
Justin Lee, his first of the season, as he received a cross from
Eric Giovagnoli and one-timed it into the back of the net.
In the second half, each team earned three penalty corners, while the Eagles out shot Alvernia 6-3. Junior
Josh Wollaston (Middletown, De./Caravel Academy) led Alvernia with three of their five shots.

Matt Wells (Linwood, Pa./Chichester) played all 90 minutes in net and recorded two saves.
Alvernia will face Cabrini College tomorrow at 2:30pm in their final game of the Eagle Road Classic. Cabrini fell to Lebanon Valley 3-0 Friday afternoon.
