Montclair, NJ (Sept. 7, 2013) - Alvernia (1-2) fell to host Montclair State (4-0) by a score of 5-0 Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.  The Red Hawks, who were ranked second in the NFHCA National preseason poll, out shot Alvernia 33-2 and earned 11 penalty corners to Alvernia's three.

Freshman Red Hawk Gianna Moglino netted four goals for Montclair State, their first three and their last goal.  Her first two goals came within the first eight minutes of play. 

Crusader goalie Erin Wunsch (West Lawn, Pa./Wilson) played the first half in net for Alvernia and recorded eight saves while surrendering three goals.  Freshman keeper Rebecca Brosious (Drexel Hill, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) played the second half, also recording eight saves and surrendering two goals.

Alvernia will look to get back on track when they host Misericordia University on Sept. 10th at 7:00pm.
