Reading, Pa. (Sept. 7, 2013) - Alvernia University (4-3) split a tri-match with Albright (2-5) and Penn State-Brandywine (1-4) Saturday at Jack McCloskey Court.  Albright swept its two matches winning 3-0 over Alvernia then 3-1 over Brandywine.  Alvernia defeated Brandywine for a 3-0 final.

Alvernia junior Liz Newman (Fleetwood, Pa./Brandywine Heights) led the Crusaders' offense with 16 kills over two matches and Brittany Lantz (New Holland, Pa./Garden Spot) added 15.

Jamie Morris (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) totaled 47 assists and Toni Maurer (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) had 29 digs.

Alvernia returns to action next Tuesday when its hosts Hood College for a Commonwealth Conference match.
