Glenside, Pa. (Oct. 22, 2014) - Arcadia University (7-5-2, 2-2-1) scored eight minutes into the first overtime for a 1-0 win over Alvernia University (8-5-2, 2-2-1) Wednesday evening in Commonwealth Conference men's soccer action at Arcadia.
Both teams find themselves in a tie for fourth place with Lebanon Valley in the conference standings with three games to go after LVC's 2-1 win over Widener on Wednesday.
Arcadia's Alex Wells scored the game's only goal in the 98th minute when he ripped a shot from the top of the box that caught the inside of the right post a caromed in.
Arcadia finished with a slight 15-14 edge in shots while Alvernia had a 10-7 advantage in corner kicks.

Alvernia continues the conference schedule at Stevenson on Saturday and will finish hosting Messiah and Hood. Arcadia will host LVC this Saturday, then finish at Albright and home to Messiah. LVC will travel to Hood and host Stevenson to close the season after this weekend's game at Arcadia.
