Scranton, Pa. (Nov. 16, 2014) - Alvernia University (1-1) extended #21 Scranton (2-0) to the final minute, but the Royals scored the final three points of the game for a 57-54 win Sunday afternoon in the championship game of the Radisson Men's Basketball Invitational at Scranton.
Alvernia erased a five point deficit with just over a minute left to play when
Harrison Deyo hit a short jumper to knot the score at 54-all. Scranton answered with a short hook shot from Brendan Boken to go back up two with 30 seconds left, and
Charles Cooper's floater with two seconds to go was off the mark.
Deyo finished with 20 points and 12 rebounds and was named to the All-tournament Team.Â
Lamont Clark scored 13 points and Cooper finished with 11.
Alvernia continues the season at Johns Hopkins on Wednesday.
