Doylestown, Pa. (Nov. 25, 2014) - Delaware Valley College (2-3) rattled off an 11-0 run to take control midway through the second half on its way to a 73-59 win over Alvernia University (2-2) Tuesday evening in non-conference women's basketball action at James Work Gymnasium.
The Aggies led by seve points at the halftime break. Alvernia had the lead down to one point on three occassions early in the second half, but DVC put together 11 straight points over a three minute span to push ahead by 14 points, 52-38 with 7:33 to play.
DVC opened with 10 of the first 13 points, but Alvernia battled back quickly to take its first lead of the night, 13-12 at the 10:16 point of the first half. The Aggies got a 3 from Kacy Peyton on the next possession to reclaim the lead and held it the rest of the way.
Alvernia got a team high 13 points and 10 boards from
Tyra Roberts and 12 off the bench from
Logan Focht. Del Val got a game-high 26 from Breanna Coll.
The Crusaders are at Penn State-Berks for a non-conference game on Monday.
