Reading, Pa. (Dec. 1, 2014) - Alvernia University (3-2) got scoring contributions from 15 different players in an 85-52 win over Penn State-Berks (0-3) Monday evening in non-conference women's basketball action at Berks.
Chelsea Ebersole and
Tyra Roberts scored 16 points apiece to lead the Crusaders. Ebersole hit 4-of-8 3-pointers in just 16 minutes while Roberts did her damage going 7-for-11 from the floor.Â
Ebersole scored four straight points as the Crusaders responded to an early 6-4 deficit scoring 19 of the next 20 points for a commanding 23-7 lead. Alvernia got a pair of 3s from
Logan Focht on the run.Â
Alvernia's lead remained double figures the rest of the way and crossed 30 in the final minute.
Eleven players recorded 10 or more minutes for the Crusaders with Roberts and Ebersole the only ones to score double digits. Focht finished with a team-high six assists.Â
Niamh Callaghan hit 2-of-4 from the 3-point arc and finished with six points.
Alvernia returns to the conference schedule Wednesday at Arcadia.
