Elizabethtown, Pa. (Sept. 24, 2014) - Elizabethtown College (3-3-1) scored the game's only goal in the 68th minute for a 1-0 win over Alvernia University (4-4-1) Wednesday evening in non-conference men's soccer action at Etown.

The Jays played the ball into the box 20 minutes into the second half and it bounced off a few players before settling at the feet of Andrew Sandridge who pushed it into the lower right corner for his second tally of the season.

Alvernia mustered four shots over the final 20-plus minutes of play, but couldn't net the equalizer.  Alex Martyn had perhaps the best chance in the 85th minute, but his effort was saved by Etown goalie, Justin Signora.

Alvernia returns home to face Neuman University this Saturday with the Commonwealth Conference schedule set to kick off next Wednesday against Lycoming.
