Collegeville, Pa. (Sept. 24, 2014) - Ursinus College (2-4-1) snuck in the game's only goal with one second left in the opening half of a 1-0 win over Alvernia University (4-5) Wednesday evening in non-conference women's soccer action at Ursinus.

The Bears ripped off 13 shots in the opening half with Alvernia keeper Margaret Burnett handling the first six that were on frame.  In the final seconds of the half, Valerie Bedrock sent a pass from the left wing across to the opposite side where Ama Achiaw buried the chance just before the horn.

Alvernia, which was limited to just a single shot in the first 45 minutes, ramped up the offense in the second half resulting in six shots, but Ursinus keeper Courtney Sullivan kept the sheet clean making a pair of saves.

Alvernia returns home to host Penn State-Berks next Wednesday.
