Margaret Wentzel scored four goals to lead Alvernia University (9-5, 2-2) to a 7-0 win over Hood College (0-12, 0-4) Saturday afternoon in MAC Commonwealth Field Hockey action at Alvernia.
Wentzel scored the opening goal in the eighth minute then scored every other goal for the Crusaders.
Alexis Krall and Melanie McCoy also scored first half goals and the Crusaders led 4-0 at the break.
Wentzel made it 5-0 on a goal 76 seconds into the second half and
Paige Burkett scored her first of the season for a 6-0 lead in the 47th minute. Wentzel closed the scoring with an unassisted goal in the 66th minute.
The Crusader defense held Hood without a shot for the game.

Nicole Heinze split time in net for the Crusaders.
Wentzel has 21 goals on the season and 64 for her career. She is seven off the single season mark held by Becky Macchione and in third place in career goals behind Macchione and Megan Novogratz.
Alvernia continues the conference schedule at Arcadia on Wednesday.
