Grantham, Pa. (Oct. 31, 2015) - Alvernia University (5-13-1, 3-5) fell 9-0 to Messiah College (16-0-2, 8-0) in its season finale Saturday evening in MAC Commonwealth action at Messiah.
The Falcons took to the board early and often, netting seven of their nine goals in the first half.
Messiah's Nikki Elsaesser was the biggest offensive threat for the Falcons, notching four goals on the evening.
The Crusaders put together five shots on goal, with four coming in the second half.
Melissa Stahl and
Johnna Shank each took two a piece, while McNamee had one.
Jessica Plunkett and
Margaret Burnett split time in the net for Alvernia. Across the first half, Plunkett had eight saves. In the second half, Burnett had two.
