Fayetteville, N.C. (Mar. 6, 2015) - Methodist University (3-3) opend up a 5-1 halftime lead on its way to a 10-6 victory over Alvernia University (1-3) Friday afternoon in non-conference men's lacrosse action at Methodist.
Methodist scored in the first minute of the game and went up 2-0 five minutes later. Alvernia got on the board with the first goal of the second quarter scored by
Zach Brommer, but Methodist scored the final three goals of the half for the 5-1 lead at the break.
Alvernia got goals from Brommer and
Brian Schay to open the third quarter and cut the gap back to 5-3, but Methodist answered with another run of three straight for an 8-3 lead and the teams alternated goals the rest of the way.
Mason Etier made 14 saves in net for the Crusaders.
Alvernia continues the non-conference schedule next Wednesday at Immaculata.
