Reading, Pa. (Sept. 10, 2015) - Penn State Berks (2-0-1) notched two goals in the second half for a 2-1 victory over Alvernia University (1-3) Thursday afternoon in a rainy non-conference game at Penn State Berks.
The Crusaders opened the game strong, taking an early 1-0 lead. In the ninth minute, Alvernia capitalized on a corner opportunity as
Bailey Stover netted her first of the season off the feed from
Hannah Mallets.

Jessica Plunkett kept the Lions at bay through the first 45 minutes, picking up five saves on the half.
Penn State Berks put its first goal on the board at the 68th minute to tie the game 1-1, and scored the game winner with just a little over six minutes left in the contest.
Penn State Berks finished with a 10-5 advantage in shots on goal, while Alvernia held the 5-2 edge in corner kicks.
Plunkett closed out the game with eight saves.
Alvernia returns home for the weekend, hosting Susquehanna on Saturday at 1:30 and Penn State Altoona at 1:00 on Sunday.
