Grantham, Pa. (Sept. 29, 2015) - Messiah College (12-1, 3-1) defeated Alvernia University (8-10, 2-2) by a 3-0 final Tuesday evening in MAC Commonwealth women's volleyball action at Messiah.

The first two sets featured 13 ties and six lead changes with Messiah ultimately prevailing 25-18 and 25-19.  The Falcons jumped out to a 7-1 lead early in the third set and kept the lead throughout in a 25-15 win.

The Crusaders got a team-high eight kills from Kristen Sipling and seven from Emily Smith.  Abby O'Donnell led the defensive efforts with 10 digs.

Alvernia continues the season this Saturday at a MAC Crossover match hosted by FDU-Florham.
