Bethlehem, PA (Sept. 4, 2015) - Alvernia University had two tough losses on Friday night at the 13th Annual Moravian Greyhound Premiere Invitational falling 3-0 to Muhlenberg College and Stevens Institute.
Muhlenburg College took the first game of the match with a 25-18 final, grabbed the second game with a score of 25-15 final, and finished out the match with a 25-13 win in the final set.
Kristen Sipling dished out six kills, while
Laura Wachowicz and
Emily Smith completed the Muhlenburg match with four kills apiece. Freshman setter
Lauryn Snyder had a team-high 17 assists.
Stevens Institute of Technology clinched the first game of the match 25-16, won the second game 25-23, and got the victory with a score of 25-19 in the final game.
Sipling once again led the offense, this time racking up 10 kills. Freshman
Laura Wachowicz was right behind her with five kills total. Snyder dished out 12 total assists.
Alvernia will be back in action Saturday at 12:00 p.m. against Ursinus College and Marywood University at 2:00 p.m. Both opponents tomorrow are 0-2 in the tournament.
