Taylor Dorrin scored a goal and tied a school record with three assists as 18th ranked Alvernia University (13-0) remained undefeated with a 7-2 win over Marywood University (9-4) Monday afternoon in non-conference field hockey action at Alvernia.
The Crusaders scored four goals in a 9-minute stretch in the first half and took a 6-0 lead at halftime.
Marywood scored early in the second half and a defensive save from Alvernia junior
Breanne Smith kept the Pacers from two quick tallies. Niether team scored until the final three minutes of the game when both teams found the back of the cage for the 7-2 final.

Margaret Wentzel scored two goals in the Crusaders early 4-goal run and moved to 87 for her career--six short of the school record. Andrea Wyosocki and Melanie McCoy finished with a goal and an assist each.

Nicole Heinze with Heinze making Alvernia's only save of the night.
Alvernia hosts Gettysburg College on Wednesday in another non-conference game. It will be the first meeting between the two schools' field hockey programs.
