BOX SCORE Reading, Pa. (Oct. 12, 2016) – Arcadia University (14-0) scored five goals in the first half en route to an 8-1 win over Alvernia University (4-9) Wednesday evening in MAC Commonwealth women's soccer action at Arcadia.
The Knights took an early 2-0 lead in the first eight minutes of play. The Crusaders held off Arcadia until the 28
th minute when the Knights expanded their lead to five by netting three goals in a three minute span.
Trailing 5-0 to start the second half, Alvernia notched its lone goal in the 61
st minute.
Allison Hyde drove the set up from
Lauren Gough past Knights goalie Taelor Rivera for her first collegiate tally.
Arcadia extended its margin to 8-1 by the 77
th minute.
Jessica Plunkett and
Kelcey Hutchinson shared time in the net for the Crusaders, combining for four saves.
Alvernia continues its conference schedule on Saturday, host Hood College for homecoming at 1:30 p.m.
